Flea Treatment
These days there are various flea treatments available. One of the most popular is frontline which is available from your vet and it is available online these days as well. However not all owners are aware there dog may have caught fleas. If I find fleas on your dog I will call you and inform you so that you have time to treat the house before you collect your dog. Don’t forget that the car will also need treating. Many fleas found on dogs are actually cat fleas, so if you have a cat it would be worth checking that it may not be the main culprit. Frontline is effective for several weeks and it is worth doing for the full 3 month course, especially if your dog is prone to getting them. Shampoos will only work on the fleas not the eggs, and some sprays are better than others but you may miss one or two fleas in the process. If you suspect your dog has fleas please inform me before you take the dog into the salon for the safety of any other dogs that may be in.
